Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News for alleged "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace014 Archives" per a statement from NBC News' chairman Andy Lack that was read on the Todayshow Wednesday morning by Lauer's former co-host, Savannah Guthrie (sitting alongside Hoda Kotb).
The statement, following a report by an unnamed colleague, noted that while this was the first time someone had come forward about alleged inappropriate behavior by Lauer, they have "reason to believe this might not have been an isolated incident."

After reading the statement, Guthrie said that as colleagues they only learned the news of his termination a few moments ago, and more details would be forthcoming later.
Lauer has not released a public statement yet.
Lauer's termination, of course, follows the high profile exits of people such as Charlie Rose, Mark Halperin, and many other men in the entertainment and media industry after complaints about them have come to light in the last several weeks.
